A walkthrough of adding and completing tasks, daily history, and weekly review. This recording shows my original personal notebook; the public app starts empty, with your own tasks, notes, and check-ins.

Behind the build.

Daybook grew out of a simple habit: writing tasks in a notebook and keeping a dated record of what got done. It brings that workflow to the browser and a standalone Mac app.

  • Add tasks with due dates, categories, importance, and optional effort estimates.
  • Complete tasks into dated Day done history, with undo and reopen.
  • Schedule daily or weekly repeats without creating missed-day backlogs.
  • Review completions, overdue work, and workload patterns each week.
  • Create your own routine check-ins and reference notes.
  • Export and restore JSON backups to move between browser and Mac.

No account or GitHub login is needed. The browser stores your notebook in this browser profile; the Mac app stores it on your Mac. There is no automatic cloud sync. Back up your notebook before clearing browser data.
